The idea of stacking information in layers is not so developed on the web, maybe because of the rather complicated DHMTL and JavaScript involved. However with the .Net WebControls it is possible to make many complicated things rather easy and accessible for HTML designers. The SlidingMenu is just such a WebControl, making sliding through stacked layers a funny game focusing on the creative side instead of the technical side.

At the basic level SlidingMenu consists of 4 simple concepts:
1.	SlidingMenu container which consists of zero or more Groups comprised into a single GUI unit. In the image to the right there is 4 groups, where group number 3 is open.
2.	Group which consists of one GroupHeader and one GroupCanvas. A Group is either open or closed. Only one Group can be open at a time. In the image to the right, group number 3 is open.
3.	GroupHeader . A GroupHeader is always visible (at the basic level) and is the clickable key to the GroupCanvas, a Group opens by clicking the GroupHeader. A GroupHeader can contain any HTML and ASP.NET Control.
4.	GroupCanvas presents the content of a Group. Only one GroupCanvas will be visible at a time, which one is visible is chosen by clicking the GroupHeader. A GroupCanvas can contain any HTML and ASP.NET Control.
